"Waterscape"              58" x 26"               oil on 4 collaged canvases

Water lilies, ponds, and the work of Monet have been a long time attraction to me.  After exploring the delicacy of the blossoms and the patterns of lily pads in the pools, I have been absorbed with the reflection and abstract quality of the water itself.  Combining realism with the over all effect of having the painting present in an abstract way continues to fascinate me.  We don't see with one point of view, so the painting of the pond plays on the multiple images the eye and brain respond to in order to transmit the concept of lily pond.  I am continuing to explore compositions that work with just the water and its patterns and reflections.
