        "Pink Croton" was painted for participation in a tropical floral festival.  This particular croton is very vibrant and almost shockingly unreal in its pinkness.  It was done on stretched 140 lb. Arches cold press water color paper.  I usually work with Winsor & Newton watercolor paints as well as Grumbacher. To add the "shockingness" to the pink leaves, I stained with Dr. Ph. Martin's inks.  The original title to this painting was "Natural Rhythms", referring to the swaying dance-like interplay of the green palm fronds and the pink leaf forms.....a natural harmony and balance of nature.
